First of all thank you for your thoughts and prayers and support. Sadly love and loyalty are not enough. As of June 7th my grandpa has been gone 2 years, still a cold case.   It is breaking my heart but i have to announce that Steins Ghost Town will no longer be open to the public and is closed. We tried and despite all efforts there was not enough people that came and. The town could not support itself financially. I deeply am thankful for all the visitors we did have and the time that I was given. The facebook page and web page will stay up so that everyone can share their memories. Please feel free to still share and talk about the little ghost town.  I will still be adding pictures to the site for everyone to enjoy. Thank you again and God Bless!

OOO, how utterly sad. I cried my eyes out when I read that I was the very last visitor that might ever see the village. I am broken hearted too. Pretty soon it will be back to dust in a dusty desert. Very very sad... The place touched my heart, don't know why or how, I just know this is a big loss for the South West. I wished there was a magic way to keep it open... We are coming back in january of 2013, I am kind of hoping to bring it one more visit... Steins found a solid little place in my heart. Thanks Melissa for the tour you gave us.

Dear Melissa,
sad to read your message. I am happy I was among those who on june 8th had the chance to see a real and not a fake remnant of the West. I once again thank you for your help and wish you all the best.

My son Reeeaaallly wanted to see a ghost town, so we planned this specially on our trip. Now I see that we missed it by just six weeks. We are all disappointed :-(
